Wedding Budgets

I was looking at pictures of some of the most spectacular weddings online almost every night before I go to bed. And then, I would start visualizing myself as a bride in one of those venues celebrating with our love ones.

Never really thought of how much we would spend for having a dream wedding. I heard and I know the final bill will always be expensive, unaware of 'HOW' expensive it will be. So I thought, hmm... maybe we will keep it as simple as possible. Yes. Simple.

And then, one day, I came across with this website called Weddings Malaysia. I was so delighted for this website actually provides a wedding budgeting tool for users to sign-up and use for free. So there, I started punching in the figures and wah-la, we were 58% over the budget of RM60k if we stick with this so-called simple wedding plan of ours.

Word of advice, budgeting is important especially if you are, like us, paying for our own wedding. If you are not an Excel savvy person, try signing up with one of the wedding budgeting tools like the one in Weddings Malaysia. It also allows flexibility if you tend to travel a lot, as you can access the tool whenever and wherever you want. And the best part is, the tool is comprehensive, and comes with a separate bride and groom's checklist.

For the sake of having an enjoyable honeymoon and a possible baby plan, we have started searching for alternatives to something that are more affordable.

This will definitely remind myself in future of how capable I am in spending that kind of money with one simple slip.
